Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, fiends, and dark forces expanding in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The traitor then paid off his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Seekers and Strategists parties.
